Principal
Recent projects include:
- Provided client services for a large timberland acquisition opportunity with a focus on analyzing HBU sales potential, preparing market analysis, developing a sales plan and DCF to determine contribution valuation of the properties.
- Advised on reconstituting a non-profit board of directors for regional ski jumping hill, developing board oversight guidelines and committee structures which would allow for expansion of operations and improvement of financial reporting.
- Served as the principal negotiator for the successful closing of a $4.3 million conservation easement sale with the State of WI.
- Worked in partnership with investors to acquire a title insurance and real estate closing company. Directly involved in negotiations for the business assets, developing pro forma income statements, business plans, formation of entities, and interviewing current staff and potential new employees.
- Provided Drone Services to clients to aid in the marketing of several high-value timberland tracts and recreational properties. Operations conducted under FAA Part 107 - Commercial Licensed UAS Operator.
Keweenaw Land Association, Limited 1993-2018
President/Chief Executive Officer/Board Director
- Responsible for management of 185,000 acres of timberland and 400,000 acres of mineral rights in Michigan and Wisconsin. Developed and executed on operations and log marketing strategies, timberland acquisitions and divestitures, financing, and human resources.
- Additional responsibilities included investor relations, strategic plan development and private capital fund raising activities.
- Led transactions resulting in the acquisition of over 25,000 acres.
- Other positions held at the company included: Log Sales Representative, Real Estate Specialist, Operations Manager, and Company Safety Officer.
